Photo of the Week: Summer Yet?

Thought I would share a few photos to help put your mind somewhere other than the present moment where in most parts of the world it is FREEZING cold. Here in Pittsburgh there is a large snow storm predicted. I am sure that most of us would rather be at the beach! First image is an oldie but a goodie. Just goes to show that you can take great photos with a point-and-shoot camera. This was my first digital camera, a Panasonic DMC-FZ5.  There are times when I miss the ability to frame up a shot using the rear LCD or having something small and inconspicuous to take pictures with in public.  Will have to add another in the future for sure.  Second shot, taken in 2008 using my second dSLR a Pentax K10D.  Biggest tip from this day at the beach?  Well two actually…windy day and sand is not good for a camera.  And dress shoes on the beach is also not a good idea.

2006 photo in Huntington Beach in California taken with a Panasonic DMC-FZ5.

Granted this beach in Erie looks a little different right now with Lake Erie frozen, but still a pleasant scene from 2008. Summer can’t come fast enough!
